An afternoon in Blackpool – 25/09/2021

That afternoon, I drove to Blackpool, a seaside resort in Northern England to take some photographs.

I arrived mid-afternoon and began my walk near the North Pier – on of three over a distance of about one mile. The photograph above is one that I took just north of North Pier.

I’d intended to walk southwards along the beach but I was told that the beach was being cleared in preparation for a fireworks display that evening. That was a nice surprise. The people shown in yellow in the image were instructing people who were already on the beach that they needed to leave. The fireworks show would be operated between the North Pier (illustrated) and Central Pier (shots of that Pier in my next post).

I couldn’t resist snapping the image above of a fellow-photographer taking a shot of the North Pier.

The photo above is one that I took from the same place that I was stood when I photographed the other photographer.

As I walked, heavy clouds were starting to gather and it was approaching sunset.

My photo today is just another image from early on in my walk.

I took all of my Blackpool photos that day using my Fujifilm X-T4 mirrorless 26 MP cropped sensor camera, paired with a Fujinon XF 10-24 mm f/2.8 lens.

EXIF data were: 1/1000 secs @ f/5.6 and 12 mm. ISO was 160.

    1. Thank you, Claire. I enjoyed being there and taking the photographs, but I didn’t enjoy the three hours drive back to the M6. Even the M55 was all done in second gear. There must have been a million people there last Saturday. Thanks though for liking the photos.
