We’re almost there. One last push once we reach the Beacon.

One of our group leaders discussing the beacon monument with a couple of other members.

Not the best photo I’ve ever taken, It’s out of focus, but I hope that you are able to make out the inscription at the base of the monument.

My legs were really glad to see this signpost – just one mile to go to Orton – somewhere to buy a cup of tea and something to eat before we board the coach for the long journey home.

The outskirts of the village.

Is that the village green? it looks rain sodden, but the ducks seem at home on the pond.

The photo is one that I took on the approach to the beacon monument. If there is still anyone who had followed my Blog since I started it, just over a year ago, this is the beacon where Persephone/Effie/Poppy encountered Adam – their second, more auspicious meeting.
Exif data: 1/40 secs @ f/11 and 40 mm. ISO 100.
Tomorrow I’ll begin a new series of images of bridges. This is one of my favourite subjects and some of you may remember that I’ve featured a few of them before – quite some time since.
a great outing
